Call for Nominations: Galbraith Prize in Economics 2014

The PEF’s biannual John Kenneth Galbraith Prize in Economics will be awarded this summer for the fourth time.

This is a call for nominations from PEF members in good standing. If you would like to nominate someone please email me at galbraith@progressive-economics.ca with a couple paragraphs to support your nomination (300 words max). Nominations will close February 2.

The Galbraith Prize is only awarded every two years, and the winner must be able to come to Vancouver for the Canadian Economics Association meetings to deliver the JK Galbraith Lecture (May 30 to June 1, 2014). The Prize comes with a $2,000 monetary award plus travel and accommodation for Vancouver. As per the terms of reference, the Prize is “awarded based on a demonstrated contribution combining economic analysis with a commitment to social justice, whose work exemplifies the goals and objectives of the PEF.”
